A much under-appreciated and very talented Esthero is currently running a PledgeMusic campaign in support of her new album titled Everything Is Expensive. Everything Is Expensive was originally scheduled for release December 28, 2010 but now looks like it might finally be released (tentatively) on October 30, 2012. As part of her Pledge Music project, pledgers have the opportunity to get their hands on some really unique items that range from a personal (finger) painting done by Esthero, personally signed items, and even the chance to hang out with Esthero in LA. My pledge is in and if I lived in LA, I would be all over the hike with her that is being offered. That would be a pretty amazing day. All pledges also include a digital download of Everything Is Expensive so even if you are going for any item that isn’t a physical or signed CD, you still get the album. Pretty cool. Oh and did I mention that several of the items are her singing directly to you via phone or in person? Yep, she’ll sing a song just for you!
For me personally, this project isn’t just about spending some money to get something uniquely Esthero in return, it’s about supporting an artist who I have been a huge fan of and closely following her career since I first heard Breath From Another back in 1998. The music business isn’t good to everyone and there is a high probability that at least one of your favorite artists isn’t living in a 13 bedroom mansion on top of a hill. If you can, give back!
